Balanced Pressure Proportioning System

General Information

Foam pump variable-flow proportioning systems are highly reliable solutions that ensure the precise and balanced mixing of water and foam concentrate during firefighting. These systems are particularly preferred in high-risk applications such as industrial facilities, refineries and fuel filling stations, hangars, storage areas, and sites containing hazardous materials.

How Does the System Work?

Gear-type positive displacement pump sucts foam concentrate from the atmospheric foam tank and delivers it to the pressure balancing valve. The pressure balancing valve precisely regulates the pressure in the foam and water lines by returning excess foam concentrate to the foam tank, ensuring the correct amount is directed to the foam proportioner. The foam proportioner, at balanced pressure, provides a mixture at 1%, 3%, or 6% ratios, producing the foam solution. The system can be integrated into both fixed-flow and variable-flow firefighting systems.

They are manufactured by us in vertical or horizontal design from 316L grade stainless steel sheets, in dimensions tailored to your needs. The production is carried out in accordance with EN standards, and the products are delivered to the customer together with all quality documents such as ITP, WPS, PQR, EN 10204 - 3.1 material certificates, and hydrostatic test reports.

Positive displacement foam pumps with bronze body, phosphor bronze gears, and hard chrome plated stainless steel shaft are suitable for use with all types of foam concentrates. They are also compatible for operation with seawater. The pumps can be supplied with electric motor, water turbine, or diesel engine drive options.

Pressure balancing valve is a special valve used in pump-driven foam proportioning systems to equalize the pressure difference between water and foam concentrate. Its purpose is to match the foam concentrate pressure with the system’s water pressure, ensuring that the foam proportioner operates under balanced pressure conditions.

It is a diaphragm-type valve with a bronze body and stainless steel internal components. By returning the excess foam concentrate coming from the foam pump back to the foam tank, it balances the foam pressure with the water pressure.

Foam proportioner: In pump-driven foam proportioning systems, it ensures the correct mixing of water and foam concentrate at balanced pressure (e.g., 3% or 6%).

It is a Venturi-type device with a bronze body and bronze internal components. It is manufactured in 4 in, 6 in, and 8 in sizes for different flow ranges.
