Deluge valves are automatic control valves used in fire suppression
systems, particularly in high-risk areas, which provide sudden and
wide-area water/foam discharge. These valves are normally in a closed
position and can be opened remotely or manually, allowing water or foam to
be discharged simultaneously from all nozzles in the connected pipeline.
In addition to being activated fully automatically by a signal from the
fire detection system, a Deluge Valve can also be opened by a remote
signal from an operator. For situations where electrical power is lost,
there is an "emergency release valve" on the deluge
valves. This allows for the valve to be opened in a short period, such as
1-2 seconds, by going directly to it even in an emergency scenario where
electrical power is lost.
When Deluge Valves are to be used in regions where temperatures can drop
below the freezing point of water, they can be delivered inside specially
manufactured cabinets equipped with heaters and thermostats.
Areas of Use:
Oil and gas industry:
Refineries, oil wells, pipeline pump stations, LNG (liquefied
natural gas) storage facilities.
Chemical and Petrochemical Plants:
Flammable and explosive chemical storage tanks, production
reactors, solvent storage areas.
Power Generation Facilities:
Thermal power plants, hydroelectric power plants, transformer
stations, and turbine areas.
Airports and Aircraft Hangars:
Refueling zones, maintenance hangars, apron areas.
Compatibility with Integrated Security Systems:
Can be fully integrated with fire detection panels, emergency
shutdown (ESD) systems, and automation solutions.
Marine and Port Facilities:
Oil and chemical tanker loading/unloading areas, port fuel depots.
Industrial Production Areas:
Automotive production lines, paint shops, process areas using
flammable liquids.
Storage and Logistics Centers:
Flammable material warehouses, hazardous material container areas,
bulk packaging warehouses.
Mining and Underground Facilities:
Mine galleries with explosive gas risks, underground power plant
compartments..
Defense Industry and Military Facilities:
Ammunition depots, fuel storage sites, missile maintenance
facilities.
Advantages:
Quick and Simultaneous Response:
When a fire is detected, all nozzles activate at the same time,
rapidly covering a large area before the flame has a chance to
grow.
Wide Area Protection:
A single deluge valve can protect a very large facility area,
which reduces both installation costs and maintenance needs.
High-Speed Response:
It activates within seconds via a detector or manual command,
providing effective control in the initial stage of a fire.
Suitability for Harsh Environments:
It operates reliably under the most challenging conditions, from
industrial facilities with explosion risks to aircraft hangars and
power plants.
Compatibility with Integrated Security Systems:
It can be fully integrated with fire detection panels, emergency
shutdown (ESD) systems, and automation solutions.
Low Operating and Maintenance Costs:
Thanks to its simple mechanical structure, the risk of failure is
low; maintenance time and costs are minimal.
Compliance with International Standards:
Safety, performance, and durability are guaranteed with UL
certified manufacturing.
